I never set out to be a “menswear guy.” I wasn’t a fashion editor, I didn’t blog, and I didn’t spend my time posting on forums or trying to get my photo taken (fun fact: there’s exactly one street style pic of me on the internet). But I always loved men’s style, and I was fortunate enough to find an outlet for it, first by editing and writing for magazines, and then by working with brands.
So what exactly is this?
Great question. Mensweird is my attempt to offer what I feel is lacking from the current menswear Affiliate-Influencer Complex, namely, insight and opinions with a little more depth, humor, and—I think this one is really important—honesty.
Oh, I get it. You’ll tell me what shoes to buy.
Nope. Mensweird isn’t here to help you find the perfect white sneakers or guide you through buying a wedding suit (although if you need advice, you can always reach out at mensweird@substack.com).
This… isn’t what I expected.
Yes, exactly! Mensweird is a different kind of menswear publication for people who crave an alternative perspective (I like to think of it as “the alt weekly* of menswear”). Is there something you want to see Mensweird cover? Slide into the DMs.
I’ve heard enough. Tell me where to subscribe.
I appreciate you. Subscribe to Mensweird below—it’s free. And should you feel like supporting this project with cash money, just know I believe in “Fugazi pricing.”
